Strong Banking Experience Required / Face to Face Needed
Position: Sr. SQL Server Developer / Face to Face Needed
Location: Jersey City, NJ
Duration: 6 Months
Job Responsibilities include:
* Supporting and enhancing the existing reporting infrastructure; this is built around SQL Server and the Microsoft Business Intelligence Product Suite
* Gathering requirements for new functionality from business users, offering timely solutions, developing, testing and implementing these solutions
* Working directly with traders to design, build, deploy, and support unique trader tools in Excel/VBA
* Building knowledge of structured credit projects and putting it to use building tools and reports for the desk
* Balancing fast time to market (client delivery) with proper governance, compliance, and audit mandates
* Fostering close relationships with other teams in Credit Technology and throughout the Technology organization
Required Skills:
* MS SQL Server 2005/2008
* Transact SQL
* SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
* SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)
* MDX
* Knowledge of Data Warehousing and OLAP
* Good communication skills; history working with traders in an investment banking environment
* Strong team player, collaborative
* Perseverance - ability to get things done
* Experience or interest in Agile development
* Ability to deliver high quality results working under pressure
Preferred Skills:
* Structured credit / credit derivatives related experience
* .NET Development
* SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
* Excel/VBA Programming
* MS Access
* Java / UNIX
* XML
* Experience of working with distributed caching solutions such as Gemfire
